Baptism - Kyle Gabriel Sevilla

Kyle (146)

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Sounds familiar?

Sesame Street, Disney and Barney are usually fave kiddie party themes. Kyle’s baptism had a unique one – The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. This is not exactly kid-stuff, narrating profound lessons about life and human nature but it was nice to see such a different theme (this book is one of my favorite reads).

Kyle’s mother Pia is based overseas, and booking for this event was done through Kathleen Dela Merced of Hi5 Parties.

Talk about client confidence (something we really appreciate about Pia). She was trying to book our services for Kyle’s 1st birthday celebration although at that time she hasn't seen all the photos from the baptism as they were due to be sent by a cousin together with the video. But here we are, communicating via email about the possibility of booking our services in December.

We sent her some straight-from-the-cam photos just so she’d have a glimpse of the kind of shots taken. About a week after, she was already talking about completing her suppliers for Kyle’s birthday. Now, that’s planning ahead :)

Some photos taken at the church.

Child Dedication - Juan Angelo De Guzman

IMG_5161

Chiz and Toni (Juan’s parents) were our first lawyer-clients, which made this engagement a little more interesting. Images of a 100-page Agreement (ok, we’re exaggerating), bonds, suits and case jurisdiction would have lingered had it not turned out that they were genuinely concerned about getting good service and conveying their expectations. Fair enough.

A little review of our brief contract, one meeting, a few emails and text messages hence and we were off to cover this event.

At the party, Toni told us it wasn’t difficult to make Juan smile - all it took was a beautiful woman in sight and there he goes with a hearty giggle (wonder which side of the family he picked this up from? Hehe). Since the beauties were aplenty that afternoon, we were able to take photos like these:

Jacque saw these towel lollipops scattered on the table so she gladly arranged them.

Photo Session - Glide Benneth Manook

IMG_1548

This was an instant photo session. I got an assignment for S Magazine for an inteview shoot with Ryan Agoncillo in Bgy. Tañong, Marikina. The barangay hall was adjacent to the police station where Ryan & Juday were having a location shoot for their sitcom "George & Cecil".

I left my empty camera bag with one of the barangay hall staff and took off to do the inteview shoot. When it was time to pack and go, there was this little girl who was with her mom and she was very pretty.

I took the chance to do an instant photo session. She was running around the room and somehow I was able to convince her to give me a few poses.

1st Birthday - Denise Arteta

IMG_1661

Denise's mom, Des, is a good friend from work and engaged us for this birthday event. Denise turned one on Maundy Thursday - and since they couldn't celebrate then, Easter Sunday na lang. :-)

Denise made this photo shoot very easy. Des must have practiced her waaaay before the event. ;-) Despite the hot and humid weather,  Denise would always smile, and giggle, even when guests played with her.

The kids enjoyed themselves - and so did the adults. There were games and prizes and a buffet selection of dishes.

There was entertainment too. It was our first time to see a female host/ magician/ ventriloquist at work :)

Interview Shoot - Lorna Tolentino

IMG_8667

Flawless? Definitely.

This was our first time to do an interview shoot. What a privilege it was to be with Ms. Lorna Tolentino.

Susan De Guzman, Managing Editor of S Magazine, gave instructions to just capture LT's reactions to the questions. She made it easy for us to do that.

Here she was with her many expressions.
